I think this really adds to the sense of neutrality of the film as you see that this was very unexpected. He's known the family for quite a while now, and although they seem very honest and forthright he is plagued with doubts... in particular because throughout the months he's spent with them he has not managed to capture her creating one of her paintings on f<br><br><br><br>Directed by Martin McDonagh, In Bruges stars Colin Farrell and Brendan Gleeson as Ray and Ken, two Irish hitmen sent to Belgium to carry out an assignment for their boss Harry, played by Ralph Fiennes. When a previous botched mission leads Harry to give Ken unexpected orders regarding Ray, the two find themselves at odds with each other and must decide how to proc<br><br><br><br>The Signal is a 2007 horror film directed by David Bruckner, Dan Bush, and Jacob Gentry. The film follows the inhabitants of the city of Terminus as they grapple with a mysterious broadcast signal that turns people into violent aggressors. As a longtime horror movie fan (much more of older stuff than what's come out recently), it was great on many levels and fortunately you'll be getting the opportunity to see it soon as it was picked up for theatrical distribut<br><br> <br>In the end the family manages to at least partially gain back the trust of the art world by finally documenting on film themselves Marla creating a painting called "Ocean" from start to finish. Although that particular painting does share similarities to prior paintings, it actually seems less sophisticated than those that have come before. Since then they have documented another painting from start to finish called "Rain", which does seem to be closer to the style of the earlier painti<br><br> <br>This is a lot like the Mad Men situation. Its star, Oscar Isaac, deservedly represents David Simon's tremendous Show Me a Hero here and yet, the series itself isn't nominated. Again, it's great to see a quirky (some might say questionable) choice like Flesh and Bone here, but one has to wonder whether HFPA tuned in to HBO in mid-to-late Aug<br><br> <br>Isaac was phenomenal in Show Me a Hero as embattled Yonkers mayor Nick Wasicsko. Playing a real-life human being whose story ended as tragically as Wasicsko's did is the sort of challenging material most actors dream of. But at the same time, it’s the most daunting – there's really no room for error. Thankfully, Isaac turned in a riveting performance that also honored the memory of Wasic<br><br> <br>They run into an interesting cast of characters in town including the tough and beautiful pregnant woman who owns the hotel where they're staying, a beautiful drug-dealing young woman who catches Ray's eye, and a midget (sorry, dwarf) who has a taste for prostitu<br><br> <br>Shortly the image pulls back to reveal that it's a movie being shown on television. The picture soon starts to break up and is replaced with strange, undulating patterns and a strange noise. Noah Hawley did what he set out to do with Fargo season 2: tell a sprawling, Midwestern crime story and fill it with more memorable characters than you can shake a mustachioed Colin Farrell<br><br> <br>There's really no chance at an upset in this category, but Lewis was great in Wolf Hall and that show deserves some love.
